This has been going on for a year in the Southampton area. Schedule 17 hours have been completely ignored by management. Since the announcement of the new proposals two weeks ago all overtime has ceased and stations are being left unmanned (no attempt to use rest day working). The first indication of the proposed cuts were on CEEFAX a pretty poor state of affairs, an nothing from RMT unless of course you are lucky like myself and have access to computer.

Hi thanks for your comment,we had a meeting with the Assistant General Secretary on Monday, and this Union is seeking clarification on the issue of Schedule 17,we was only onformed of these proposed cuts on the 30th May.
We are getting information out to members all the local clerical Reps for all areas have been written to about this issue, and info will continue to flow out.
As you can appreciate we are in the early stages of this major issue, and this Union will do everything in their power to oppose this.
This will include campaigns and using our MP's To oppose this.
If i can be of any further assistance in this matter please do not hesitate to contact me.
We do get info out via e-mail,if you do have this facility, and would like to get info via these means, then please do advise Union Headqurters or myself.
