UPDATE ON 2008 PAY RISE THAT IS BEING WITHELD BY SWT

As you all may be aware that South West Trains have held back the Pay Rise and the Back Pay from the 2008 pay award. This has nothing to do with the RMT we have agreed this pay award and this has been held back by the Company because we are ballotting our members for Industrial Action because of the fact that they will not give us the committement that there will be no Compulsory Redundancies following there proposals to remove around 700 posts from various Grades within the Company. The General Secretary will be sending out a Circular to advise our members of the True Story as to why the Company are with holding this Pay Rise and Back Pay. A reminder that the Ballot for Industrial Action Closes on the 17th March 2009. THEREFORE WE WOULD ADVISE OUR ENTIRE SWT MEMBERSHIP WITHIN THE RMT TO STAND UP AGAINST THIS CRUDE PROFITEERING BY VOTING..... YES ON THE BALLOT FORM...
