Circular No: IR/274/10
14TH October 2010
TO ALL BRANCHES, REGIONAL COUNCILS AND REGIONAL OFFICES
Dear Colleagues,
Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2010
Southeastern Drivers (BR2/0001/SE(D)
The company has made another offer which has been put to members in the form of a referendum with a GGC recommendation to reject the offer as it is felt that it still does not meet our aspirations on the grounds of no suitable yearly percentage increases and it contains no compensatory enhanced payment for working through the Olympics. If you have any of these members in your branch, please could you ask if they have received their voting paper? If they have not received a paper, please ask them to contact the Industrial Relations department on 0207 387 4771 or the helpline on 0800 376 3706. Alternatively, email info@rmt.org.uk

Merseyrail (Excl Guards and Drivers) (BR2/0001/M)
A referendum of members has been held and has concluded with members voting to reject the company’s offer. The GGC have instructed me to carry out a ballot for strike action and action short of strike action. Therefore if you have any of these members in your branch, please could you ask them to verify their job title, their workplace and home contact details by getting in touch with the Industrial Relations department on 0207 387 4771 or the helpline on 0800 376 3706. Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2009
South West Trains (Guards Option) (BR2/0001/SWT)
During last year’s pay negotiations, it was agreed that once the 2010 element of the pay increase, August 2010 RPI, was announced, guard members would be given the choice to vote for either a full pay rise of 5.2% or a reduced pay rise of 2.2% and a one hour reduction in their working week.
I have conducted a referendum of our guard members and they have voted unanimously to accept a full pay rise. I have advised the company of our acceptance and I have requested that the increase is reflected in members’ pay at the earliest opportunity.
Yours sincerely
Bob Crow
General Secretary
