The RMT and our partner rail unions have a learning agreement in place with South West Trains, and those interested in this exciting opportunity will be part of a team headed by the RMT’s Lead Union Learning Representative for SWT Mark Manwaring. Locally, Mark and his team are supported by a regional development worker whos sole responsibility is to encourage and support the learning agenda across the RMT. Bob Crow recently stated in the RMT Learning Update newsletter that, ‘ULRs are now placed to go from strength to strength, and are an integral and increasingly important part of our union’. With this in mind we would like to encourage applications from new, as well as existing activists. Full training will be given with an initial five day course and a further three days later in the year.
